The Internet Golf Society is a group of golfers who primarily work in the internet industry — engineers, operators, network architects, and technologists who share a passion for the game.
What started as a casual round at an industry conference has grown into two decades of camaraderie, competition, and courses. Every March or April we gather for a dedicated four-to-five night trip to a destination layout. In between, rounds break out wherever enough members end up at the same conference.
2026 marks our 20th year. Our rules are simple: show up, play your ball, enjoy the company. The format changes. The laughs don't.

Every March or April the group descends on a destination course or region for four to five nights of golf. Desert canyons, coastal links, mountain layouts — the location changes, the crew doesn't.
We play whenever enough members end up at the same industry conference. A note on the mailing list, a tee time, and the round is on. These are some of the best days in the calendar.
Members primarily work in the internet industry — the network engineers, operators, researchers, and builders who keep the internet running. If that's you, you're in good company.
From canyon red rock to coastal fog, we've taken on some memorable tracks.
Mesquite, Nevada — Carved into red sandstone canyon walls, Wolf Creek routinely ranks among the most scenic courses in the country.
St. George, Utah area — Dramatic elevation changes, desert carries, and red rock scenery make every round an adventure.
Alabama — Lush fairways, warm hospitality, and a round that doesn't end until the last putt drops and the stories are told.
Pacific coast and inland — Morning fog rolling off the water, mature trees lining the fairways, and courses with serious pedigree.
Lush summer green, tree-lined fairways, and the kind of scenery that makes you slow down and actually enjoy the walk.
Pacific coastline — Links-style winds, rolling terrain, and ocean vistas that make three-putts almost forgivable.
Years of rounds, laughs, and fairway memories.

Yes, we have our own balls. "Bates Causes Yips" and "internetgolfsociety.org" printed right on them. You'll know one when you find it in the rough.
